Dark circles – Some of us are lucky enough not to have them, me on the other hand… not so lucky. With the lack of sleep I have been getting since my daughter thinks its super funny to take late naps and stay up late at night – I haven’t been getting enough sleep so my dark circles are out in full force. So with that being said I thought now would be the perfect time to give you babes a quick tutorial at how to conceal dark circles.
Wow, I cannot believe the last time I sat down to write a blog was over three months ago. Wait, thats a huge lie; I sat down and even started to write tons of times. But something would always distract me or keep me from finishing my thought. And thus the blog idea would be forever lost in the busy sea of other thoughts in my mind. I feel very different from the last time I wrote, my outlook on life has some what changed – which is another reason I took so much time away from The Whitney Story. To be honest, I have just been lazy – like to the point I have seriously contemplated watching gossip girl for the fourth time (don’t judge). With that being said, I felt I should explain my leave of absence before I return to a regular blogging schedule…whatever that is.
Ok dolls, so a few months ago there was A LOT of drama going on in the liquid lipstick world (first world problems, right?) The theory was that the Kylie Lip Kit was the same as the ColourPop ultra matte liquid lipstick. As a customer of both brands, I felt it necessary to give my thoughts on this super important matter.
If you follow me on social media, then you probably already know that I am the photographer behind the stunning Argan Republic products. Every few months or so, Marissa, the skincare guru/owner of the brand, sends me her newest creations to photograph for her website. How I was lucky enough to get to shoot and try all these products I will never know! Today I want to chat about my absolute favorite product made by Argan Republic. The first time I ever tried Marissa’s products I knew they were something special. Mark my words babes, you will see this brand in Sephora someday. For more background info on Argan Republic, check out my first review of the products here. Anyway – there are SO many Argan Republic products I love, but here is the one that stuck out the most: The Manuka Orchid Facial.
There are always new beauty and skincare products coming to market – sometimes it’s an amazing experience and I find something I absolutely love, and other times the new big thing leaves my skin a compete wreck. A few months ago I applied the Argan Republic Manuka Orchid Facial and it has been a true game changer for my skin. Anytime my skin is having a meltdown, this is the product I reach for.
The first time I opened the jar to smell this product, I instantly fell head over heels in love. The scent of this mask is unbelievable, I honestly couldn’t even find the words. Marissa says it smells like a sweet strawberry field full of honeycomb…sounds amazing, right? I seriously think that the scent alone is a spa like experience. The Manuka Orchid Facial is for all skin types – especially dry skin prone to dermatitis & eczema, acne, or aging skin. It is also gentle enough for sensitive skin.
Goal achieved, Manuka Orchid Facial! When I removed the mask for the first time, I was stunned how much better my skin looked after only one use. Masks can sometimes irritate my acne prone skin, but this mask actually helped it to heal. So, why? What is in this amazing concoction?
Ingredients: *Argania Spinosa(argan oil), organic bee propolis, Raw New Zealand Manuka Honey, Bee Pollen, Royal Jelly, wildcrafted Jasmine Sambac essential absolute oil, wildcrafted plumeria alba(frangipani essential oil), *Citrus aurantium amara(neroli essential oil), Orchidaceae(Orchid extract in fractioned coconut oil), Hibiscus rosa-sinensis(ground hibiscus petals), ananus communis(pineapple extract), white kaolin clay, rose clay. * = certified organic
“This intoxicating concentrated bee blend is an ultra exfoliating, healing, and regenerative luxury facial. The amazingly strong anti-bacterial properties of bee products will reduce acne as well as reduce allergenic skin issues like dermatitis. Bee products are notorious for improving collagen production while promoting skin cell regeneration to reveal youthful, radiant skin. Active and natural fruit enzymes gently exfoliate and resurface your skin. Certified organic argan oil, botanical oils and extracts nourish, tone and tighten, while gentle kaolin clays remove impurities and increase circulation. The sweet aroma of honey and rich, romantic florals will take you away and kiss your skin with bliss. Seriously, the manuka orchid facial is worth pairing with a fine glass of rosé while you wait.”
In addition to the ridiculous list of benefits named, this amazing product can also double as a cleanser! Um, yes please. If you are using it as a mask, I apply it with a clean foundation brush and leave it on my face for 3 hours. I’m not sure if everyone can wear it that long, but the longer I leave it on my skin the better it looks! To use it as a cleanser, I just use a small amount and work it into my face. The texture of this mask isn’t smooth, it’s more on the gritty side due to the ground Hibiscus. Gritty texture = exfoliating. You know I love a good exfoliator. If you are in the market for a new mask, I would highly-highly recommend this one. It retails for $32 and is worth every penny! AND – Argan Republic was kind enough to provide me with a very generous coupon code for my readers… 20% off your entire order! Just use code “WHITNEY” at check out! http://argan-republic.com/

I feel like the title of this post explains my life lately. Fifty Shades of ADD is #mylife. With moving a few months ago, having a miscarriage, starting a new business, and being a stay at home mom, oh, and still trying to blog – I have really been struggling to keep it all together. My biggest problem right now is with my ADD, for once I feel like my anxiety is more under control (thanks to Nirvana Yoga KY). But, I still have days when I just can’t seem to chill out and think clearly. Sometimes I don’t even remember to text people back after I open the text… and by sometimes, I mean like all the time lately.
