Hey Dolls, Monday again!
The weekend has come and gone. Sadly, I did nothing with my weekend besides lay around and clean the house. I was so out of it I did not feel like going anywhere or doing anything. Sometimes I just get into these funks for a few days. I guess that is what is called depression. I needed to get out and see my friends but I just didn’t. I wish I would have, they had so much fun without me watching Fifty Shades of Grey and going to the River Fest that was in downtown Columbus.
Yesterday was Mothers Day, and I spent the whole day with just Charlotte. John had 24 hour duty, so he was gone all day until this morning… I know right? Who schedules a married man with a child on mother’s day? There are a ton of single soldiers to work on days like that. But hey, that is how they roll in the army sometimes. Nevertheless, I had a great day with Charlotte. She was so sweet yesterday. I got lots of hugs and kisses and laughter from her. John and Charlotte also gave me the best gift for mothers day… MAC makeup! He knows the way to my heart…after much hinting around. HA-HA! He also popped in during the day while on break to bring me sushi! So Char and I spent the day doing the normal things we do. We played games, read books, and watched her favorite movies… as always. I have been really trying to read to her as much as she will let me. She loves to be read to, but also likes to rip the book out of your hand. She must have known it was mothers day, because she was an angel at bedtime too. She went to bed without a fuss-minus head butting me in the nose… not that she meant to obviously. I love watching her on the baby monitor at night. She is always so sweet when she sleeps. Every night I always tell John I want to go get her and co-sleep. But I never do because she doesn’t sleep well in bed with us. She is an independent little girl.
After I put her down for bed, I headed to my bathroom to get my mommy spa night on! Since John was at work all day I didn’t get to go to a spa or have my hair done, or whatever mothers do to get pampered on mother’s day. I lit a candle, ran the bath, popped in the bath salts and relaxed. I always use a salt or sugar scrub while I do my little spa nights. It’s so relaxing and is a great way to prep your skin for self-tanners. I have been loving the products from Simple Bath and Body. I came across this company randomly on Instagram a few weeks ago and was super interested to try the bath and body products. I contacted the owner, Jessica, and asked if she would allow me to try the products for a review on my blog. She was so sweet and agreed to send me some of her favorite products.
If you know me or follow me on social media you know I have a healthy, or not so healthy obsession with beauty products. I have tried so many different types of products. So, when I find a small business that is doing it better than the big companies, I am in love. I love to support small business owners like Jessica. Why would you spend more money for a name brand product when you could buy it from someone that makes something just as effective at home? I always try to look for anything I am shopping for on Etsy or other sites like it.
The products that she sent me were: Margarita Sea Salt Body Scrub, Rosemary Lavender Mineral Bath Salt, Lavender Vanilla Mineral Bath Salt and one of her amazing Soy Candles in the scent Bamboo & Orchid. I have seriously fallen in love with all of them. The candle was not too strong, so it was perfect for the bathroom while relaxing in the tub with the bath salts. And can we talk about how cute the packaging is? The bath salts come in these little tubes with cork tops! I am a sucker for cute packaging. The salt scrub was on point! I have used a lot of salt and sugar scrubs, due to how much I self tan. And I must say, this one takes the cake. It made my skin feel so incredibly soft, I could not believe it.
I loved everything so much I am going order more products from her this week! I highly recommend checking her out on Etsy to see everything she has. Jessica was also sweet enough to give me a coupon code for you babes to use, should you choose to purchase anything from her. I will link her Etsy site below, with the coupon code! Be sure to follow her on Instgram @

I had such a good mothers day! I still can’t believe I am the mother to the sweetest, craziest and beautiful girl in the world. I ended the night with a glass of wine and watched Keeping Up with The Kardashians. My favorite reality tv show! As I am sure you guessed by the book pictured above. It is my second mothers day, and if there is anything I have learned thus far… you have to make time for yourself. Have a at home spa night at home whenever you can. Mother or not, everyone needs time to relax.
