If I had to choose one mascara that I would use for the rest of my life, what would it be? – Voluminous Carbon Black. All day no questions asked…it’s my ride or die. Mascara has always been the one product that I will NOT leave the house without applying. And I always have one with me in my purse. Sad…yes, I know. Mascara just makes you look so much more awake when you don’t have any other makeup on, and to me it’s a must with a full face of makeup.
I discovered this mascara yearsss ago, when I first started watching YouTube beauty videos. Nicole Guerriero would rave about this mascara in so many videos. So you know me, I decided I needed to see what all the fuss was about. Before I used L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara, I used Lancome Hypnose Custom Volume Mascara. After years and years of trying every new mascara I could get my hands on, I finally found my mascara soulmate. I finally found a mascara that works as well if not better than the high-end one I had been using. My bank account is so happy I made the switch, since Lancome Hypnose is priced at $27 and L’Oreal is only $7.
I have been purchasing this mascara over and over and over again for at least the past four years. Even if I have five other mascaras in my “collection”, I always run (drive) to the store if I run out. Of ALL the mascaras I have tried, this one is still my favorite. I have yet to find something that works as well and gives me that perfect deep black color. Carbon black gives my lashes amazing length and natural volume without making them look like spiders. However, it is build-able. I normally go for just one coat if I do not have a full face of makeup on. But if I am going all in and am not wearing lashes, I like to apply three coats. Tip* do not let the mascara dry between coats. You will look like there are spiders sitting on your eyes if you do that with any mascara.
When it comes to mascara I have come to the realization that the higher-end brands are not better than the drug store.
Have you tried L’Oreal Carbon Black? What is your favorite Mascara?
