It has been a HOT minute since I stepped into an Ulta and made a purchase. Over the last year I have been working with so many brands and trying new products, that I left some of my ride or die products in the dust. The Ulta that was closest to my house in Georgia gave me anxiety every time I went, so I didn’t go much while living there. The store was always a mess and the staff were rude or just plain didn’t speak to you. As someone who has been a manager more than once, it makes me crazy to see places of business a mess like that. But now I am back in the land of an awesome Ulta! So, while John and I were out one day I ran in to grab a few goodies I had been missing.
The first products I went in for were my Shampoo and Conditioner. Ulta is having their liter sale, so I had to stop in and grab some of my favorites. With my hair being as long as it is, it would be silly not to buy in bulk. I blow through shampoo and conditioner like it’s going out of style. I always buy the Redken All Soft conditioner and normally a Biology Shampoo, but I was feeling froggy and wanted to try something new, so I picked up the Redken Color Extend Magnetics. Since I colored my hair a red ombre with a very bright red on the ends, I needed something that wasn’t going to strip the color. This shampoo has been pretty great so far – no build up and it doesn’t dry out my hair. The Redken All Soft conditioner is my favorite of all those I have tried in my lifetime. It keeps my hair super soft and easy to brush, without making it greasy or leaving build up.
Lashes. I can’t go into Ulta and not buy lashes… it’s a problem. The Ardell Demi Wispies are my absolute favorite. They are very natural and easy to apply. I have yet to buy a high-end lash because I like these so much and… they’re cheap. Win win right?
NYX Hi Definition Photo Concealer Wand. Love these little babes. When I first started really branching out and collecting makeup, this was one of my first concealer purchases. At $5, you can’t beat these. I picked them up in both yellow and light shades.
I have been in the market for a bottom lash mascara and I have heard nothing but great things about this one. The Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Mascara has a fairly small applicator which makes it much easier to get in there and cover every one of those lower lashes. I’ve been using this for over a week now and I love it.
NYX Matte Liquid Liner, another product I keep seeing and hearing about. The last brand that I had came off rather easy and never stayed true to color throughout the day/night. This one holds up pretty well for a liquid liner, I’ve been pleased with it so far. It has a very small applicator so you can make the tip of your wing liner very pointy. Which is what we all strive for, am I right?
NYX Sculpt and Highlight Face Duo – this last product was an unplanned one. There is always that one, or two, or three products that you leave Ulta with that you weren’t planning on buying. I am one of those people that marketing companies love. When I see something on the end cap with the word “NEW” displayed, I jump all over it. Especially when it has to do with contouring and it’s from a brand I love. I picked this up in the shade Light/Almond. Anything that makes cream contouring easy I am all for. I have to say I really like this product. It blends super easy just like the HD concealer, and the Light highlight shade works perfectly with my skin tone. However… I am not a huge fan of the Almond shade. It is too warm for contouring on me. I like my contour shades to be more cool toned. So, I wish I had picked up another to try a different contour shade. If only you could mix and match…but it isn’t a perfect beauty world.
Well that wraps up my Ulta haul! What are some of your favorite products from Ulta? Let me know in the comments below so I can try them out too!

It’s my goal this year to perfect my application of false lashes. You would think I’d be a PRO at it by now, but they scare me ha! They are beautiful though! I haven’t used the So Soft Line in a long time and you just reminded me how much I loved it! Great Haul!!
