Whoa! It is already July: summer is here in all her blazing glory! Summer is such an on-the-go, fun-in-the-sun season. Trips to the lake, festivals, weddings, and full on beach vacations. This is the season of travel. So, in honor of summer and this amazing long weekend ahead of us, I thought I would share my Summer Travel Beauty Essentials! When I was at Costco picking up everything we needed for the up coming holiday weekend festivities, I picked up a few of my beauty must haves as well! But, first we have to cover the basics! For summer travel, I normally keep my makeup bag super simple. You really don’t need much for a trip to the lake or camping.
SPF! Fun in the sun isn’t so fun if you don’t protect your skin. I have been loving the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream with sunscreen. It has an SPF of 30 and keeps my skin hydrated all day. I also love the packaging – it’s slim, so it fits easily in my travel makeup bag.
Deodorant and perfume. This one is a no brainer. Summer sun = sweat = not so fresh ladies. I picked up the three pack of Secret Clinical Strength Invisible Solid while I was at Costco, so now I will forever have deodorant. I love taking rollerball perfumes on trips because they safely and easily fit in bags.
Facial cleanser and face mask. After all the dirt and oil from a long day in the sun, a facial cleanser is crucial. I have also learned face masks are just as important – long car/airplane rides can leave your skin really angry. To save space, try looking for a mask that doubles as a cleanser.
Dry Shampoo. Weekend travel kits are not complete without dry shampoo!
Razors! Ugh, I used to always forget this very important item. But after a few times forgetting something as important as a razor on a summer trip, you start to make lists of things like that. For summer shaving, I love the Venus Olay Razors. We all shave A LOT in the summer months. It’s very easy to dry your skin out when shaving, so using a razor that has built in hydration is an easy way to fight back.
Tooth brush and Crest Whitestrips . With all the food and drinks consumed on trips, it’s nice to have Whitestrips to keep your teeth looking clean and brilliant. These little babes are always in my travel makeup bags.
Makeup. As far as makeup goes on short summer trips, I don’t take much. If you are going to the lake, odds are you aren’t going to be applying a lot of makeup. However, I always take a few things just in case I feel like being a bit glam. Cushion foundations are simple and easy for travel. Same goes for cream highlight, concealer and bronzer. Cream products are easy to blend even with your fingers, but I always bring a few brushes. Then, lip balm and lip gloss for the lips – you could even pop on some of the cream highlighter on the lips if you were feeling extra sassy. Finally, mascara and brow pencil and that’s it!
So there you have it – easy Summer Travel Beauty Essentials for your summer travels. Now for the fun part! Vocalpoint is pairing up with P&G and Costco to give away 25 Summer Beauty Boxes valued at $150. My best Summer beauty tip is to use Aloe vera products to help keep your skin soft from all the chlorine that is in the pools and the harsh sun tends to dry out the skin.

My tip is make your own leave in hair conditioner! I use a small spray bottle and add 1 capfull of conditioner and 3 capfulls of water. I shake it up and spray it on my hair. My hair gets so dry from all the swimming in the summer, and this is so easy to do on vacation too with the sample bottles they leave!
