Volume – we all want it when it comes to our hair, but for some of us it doesn’t always come so easy. I never struggled in this department until my hair became excessively long. Having extremely long hair might seem glamorous to some, but for those of us who have it…we know how much work it can be to keep our hair full of the bouncy volume we desire. I guess the same holds true for anyone who has thin or fine hair – falling flat is just inevitable…unless you find the right products OR the right routine.
Have you ever thought about washing your hair in reverse? You know, like condition and then shampoo? I have… it just makes sense to me. When it comes to washing my hair, I’ve always thought that conditioning weighs it down, even if it’s a light weight conditioner. So, why don’t we wash in reverse? Well, in the past, we didn’t have products that were made to do such a thing. We’ve been washing our hair the same way since the early 1900’s, but now it’s time to try something different?
When I heard TRESemmé came out with the new Beauty-Full Volume Collection line to address this issue, I thought to myself, “Finally!” However, I was still skeptical whether or not it would really work. So, how does this line work? The answer is pretty simple, just reverse. You wet your hair and condition first. Once you’ve finished with that, you move onto the shampoo. I was pretty shocked that the shampoo didn’t leave my hair oily or overly dry. In my mind, I thought it would be too heavy or too drying since it came last. But I was completely wrong, my hair felt just as it always does when I was finished. TRESemmé specially formulated this line to work in reverse; you can’t just switch up any shampoo and conditioner! The true test is how it feels and looks after I blow dry. This new TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Collection line also has a hair maximizer, moose, and hairspray. TRESemmé is already my go to brand for drugstore hairspray, so I was excited to try the new one out!
After all was said and done and I used the entire line, my hair felt and looked amazing. Tons of healthy, bouncy Volume! My husband even liked the line as well for his fine hair! I was so pleased that the idea of washing your hair in reverse actually worked. I guess there really is something to be said for switching it up!

Your hair is always gorgeous! I’ve had super long hair in the past and while I love the way it looks (well most of the time, ha) I hate the amount of work it takes to make it look like that. I’m currently growing my hair out and I’m already like AHHHH!!! This is SOOOO MUCH WORK! But seriously, your hair is freaking fabulous!!!!!
I don’t have any issues with fine, flat hair, but I do love the idea of a reverse washing! I think I’m going to have to give that a try because just like you said, it makes sense!
