By now you have heard talk about quite a few new beauty trends, most of them pertaining to makeup – How to wear a Matte Lip, Contouring your face, etc… The new trend I want to talk about today, however, comes from the skincare side of our every changing beauty world. So, what is this new trend? Multi Masking. Multi what? Multi Masking – the art of using several different masks at the same time to get a customized facial. Multi Masking is like contouring the face with your favorite face mask!
If you have ever had a facial by a great esthetician, then you may have already Multi Masked and not even known it. When an esthetician looks at your skin, they want to treat your problem areas. But what if you have more than one? Or more than two different types of skin issues? Then that esthetician would most likely treat those areas with different products. At this point, I am sure some of you are like Whit… I can’t afford a professional facial. Well lucky for you babes I am going to show you how I do my own with my two favorite masks from Argan Republic. I fell in love with the Argan Republic brand last fall, when I did a review of a few of their products. Review here. So it’s no surprise that their masks are my go to for Multi Masking.
The firs step to Multi Masking is deciding what type of skin you have. We all have a skin type whether it be- dry, normal, oil or combination. I have combination/oily skin, which I believe is a pretty common combo. Your favorite esthetician could help you with this, or good old handy dandy Google. Most of the information you need is right at your fingertips. Here is a google WebMD article – http://www.webmd.com/beauty/face/whats-your-skin-type
Once you have done your research and understand your skin type, it is time to find a few masks that fit those problem areas. My biggest problem is acne and redness/dark marks on my checks. So, I need one mask to fight acne/absorb excess oil and the other to brighten and soften my redness and dark spots.
The two that I have found to work the best for me are Argan Republic’s Green Goddess mask and Argan Republic’s Rose Clay. Besides the obvious benefits of these masks, I adore them because they dry at the same time! That is definitely something you want to look for when you Multi Mask. You can’t have one that stays on for 10 and the other 30, get me? Unless… you don’t mind washing them off at separate times. So now let me break down how I use these masks and give you a little more info on them.
The Green Goddess mask is the mask that I use for my nose and chin since I have ultra large pores (aka blackheads), the middle of my forehead, and my jaw line down to my neck. Basically, I use this mask anywhere I tend to have breakouts. This is a strong super strong mask so don’t be freaked out if your skin is red after use. It will go back down, the mask just brings blood to the skin’s surface along with all the unwanted oil and dirt. You can mix this mask with water but I prefer a toner and a few drops of a beauty oil. This keeps the mask from becoming too dry and pulling moisture out of your skin.
“Argan Republic’s Green Goddess mask is made up of French Green Clay and Spirulina. Green clay has strong absorbing and purifying properties, making it the perfect option for people with acne and oily skin. A green clay mask will suck every single blackhead out of your face! Because it’s very strong, it it might not be the best option for people with sensitive skin. Spirulina is a blue-green algae that is the ultimate superfood for your skin. It can repair and rejuvenate damaged skin and give you a healthy glow. It’s exceedingly high in anti-oxidants, chlorophyll which helps clean the skin and strengthen cells. Spirulina also adds moisture to skin, anti-inflammatory and can eliminate acne bacteria.”
The Rose Clay mask is more easy going. I use this mask on my checks where I have redness, between my eye brows where I have dark spots, along my hair line, upper lip and decollete. Again, you can totally mix this mask with water but I like to use a beauty oil toner combo (mostly oil) with this mask.
“Argan Republic’s Rose Clay is a delicate kaolin clay that is perfect for normal to dry and sensitive skin. Excellent for a mild detox, exfoliation and improving skin circulation! It is perfect for treating blotchiness, softening the skin and brightening the complexion. It has anti-aging and anti-redness properties and, it is perfect for people with dry skin who need nourishment with minerals and but also to eliminate toxins.”
The toner I use with these masks is from Agran Republic as well – the Rose Hydrosol. I find that mixing a toner and mask gives you twice the benefits in one easy step!
“Argan Republic’s Rose Hydrosol is a fantastic toner for all skin types with all the benefits of rose otto but in a light, refreshing rosewater form. Created as the byproduct of essential oil, rose is great for mature, wrinkled, dry and sensitive skin. regenerative, healing, firming, improves tone & texture, anti-inflammatory, repairs broken capillaries and restores moisture. This is perfect for blending with one of our clay masks for added benefits!”
So there you have it – the art of Multi Masking! Find a few masks that fit your skincare needs and apply them to particular areas at the same time. You may look a tad bit like a clown while waiting for these masks to do their jobs, but I promise the hard work and funny looking face is well worth the effort! Argan Republic offers four different clay mask, each with a different level of detoxification- so you are sure to find one or a few you’ll love!

Those masks look wonderful. I have been using Argan Republic Youth Elixir and Regenerative Night Elixir for about 30 days oon your recommendation. My skin is much smoother and softer. I like the quality of the oils and there are no artificial ingredients. Exfoliating with the masks will probably let the oils works even better. Think I’ll give it a try. Thanks for the tip. And the coupon.
