Merry Christmas Eve my loves! I hope everyone has something wonderful planned for the next few days. I know we do!
Tonight, we are going out to a little get together at my Step Mother and Father’s bar in the city where I grew up. Every Christmas Eve, they close down their tavern early and have a little get together with their closest friends. I am super excited that we are here to attend this year. I have missed being a part of all the holiday get togethers. After we get back to my mom’s, it will be wrapping time! Yes…we are waiting until the last possible minute to wrap gifts. Procrastination = my way of life.
Tomorrow will be filled with so much happiness, this is the first time we are home for Christmas in three years! It has been so hard to be far away from my family on Christmas. Buying gifts online and sending them home and watching them open them over Facetime is never the same as being here together. This year we will be able to watch all of the kids facial expressions as they open theirs gifts and hear the screams and excitement when they find out what is under than wrapping paper. But most of all, being here with my parents and sisters is the best part. A big part of me wishes we could stay forever and all grow old together. I have missed out on so much holiday time with them over the past three years. I can’t wait to sit around and eat, drink and laugh with everyone after so long.
From our family to yours, we are wishing you a very Merry Christmas/Happy Holiday, filled with family, friends, smiles and laughter. Oh, and way too much food and wine!
