Is it fall yet? I am always so excited for summer, because with summer comes bronze glowy makeup looks, summer fashion and sun kissed skin. But the part I always forget about is August. August, August August… you are too dang hot. Especially in Georgia, it is normal for it to feel like 110+ degrees here. No thank you please, I am over it. Time for smoky eyes and dark lips. I have been waiting patiently for the beauty world to decided it is time for Fall Collections to come out.
So, you can imagine how pleased I was when I saw LORAC was launching their Fall 2015 Collection this month. I have been a fan of LORAC for quite a few years now. My first experience with the company’s products were back when Haute Look was becoming popular. I was in the market to try a new liquid eyeliner and I saw LORAC had their Front of the Line PRO Liquid Eyeliner on sale, so I popped it into my cart and ordered it right then and there. For my liquid eye liner Boos out there, if you haven’t already, you MUST give this a try. Yes, I know the price ($23) seems high for a liquid eye liner, but trust me when I say that if you are someone who’s eyeliner always looks cousins not sisters, you should give this a try.
Anyway, back to the LORAC Fall 2015 Collection… The three pieces I have from the collection are the Limited Edition LORAC PRO Metal Palette, and two LORAC Front Of The Line PRO Eye Pencils-Dark Brown & Aqua.
Let’s chat about the PRO Metal Palette first. This is a limited edition palette, created by celebrity makeup artist Carol Shaw. You cannot purchase this product from LORAC.com, it is exclusive to Ulta. The palette comes with 8 metallic shades, ranging from very light to black. LORAC created all new shades, so there are not any repeats from older PRO Palettes. That is the up and down side to LORAC: they create these beautiful shades but you can not buy them as single shadows. I await they day they create a single shadow collection. The shades in this palette are stunning, absolute perfection for Fall. The quality of these shadows is right on par with the PRO palettes of the past. I own the original PRO Palette and these shades are no different when it comes to quality and texture. The texture of the shadows are buttery smooth and blend fast and easy. No chalkiness here. The shades in thie palette are…Quartz, Gilded, Rose Gold, Amber, Clover, Cobalt, Graphite, Onyx.
When applying these shades, I use a Sigma E55 shader brush. This brush is super dense, so it makes it easy to pick up the product and apply without any fall out. If I am looking to make them even more pigmented, I spray MAC Fix+ on my brush to give an even more metallic look. The swatches below were done with my finger with one swipe, no brushes or primer were used…
Swatches L to R: Quartz, Gilded, Rose Gold, Amber, Clover, Cobalt, Graphite, Onyx…
You can see how pigmented the shadows are! Out off the 8 shades in the palette, I would say the ones with the more buttery foiled textures are Gilded, Rose Gold, Amber, Clover & Graphite. Quartz is a littleee more on the chalky side but not much at all. I have found that to be the case with most white shadows. Cobalt & Onyx are a little drier and matte when applied with a brush. They are still pretty, just more of the glittery side.
Now to the LORAC Front Of The Line PRO Eye Pencils
The Front of the Line PRO Eye Pencils are available in 14 shades, from white to black and everything in between. The pencils come in a sleek metal silver case, with the color of the pencil shown on the end. This is a great feature if you are like me and have more than one. They are also retractable, so there’s no need to sharpen them…thank god. Some how I ALWAYS loose my sharpeners. These pencils retail for $20.
The shades I own are Dark Brown and Aqua. The Dark brown is a flat matte liner with no shimmer or glitter. The Aqua is a medium blue metallic liner, very glittery. Both are great shades to have with this PRO Metal Palette. I normally use these liners to smoke out my under eye. I almost always have liquid liner on the top (I know I need to try something new). I set them with a shadow over top to give more definition to the look. This also helps to keep the liner in place all day. I am very oily, and my eyes water A LOT, so setting them with a shadow is a must for me.
Also in the LORAC Fall 2015 Collection are the…PRO Matte Eye Shadow Palette, PRO Contour Palette, PRO Contour Brush & PRO Plus Fiber Mascara. I am sure I will be trying these out as well. I have yet to try a LORAC product that I did not love. I am so excited summer is almost over and it is time to break these fall colors out!
Are you ready for fall makeup?

Hi!
Loved the review! Quick question though. For the Lorac gel eyeliners, have you tried them in your waterline? I’m looking for something that stays put! Please let me know!
Whitney says
I have not! Lately I have only been using MAC nw20 pencil on my waterline
Mina says
That stays on strong without smudging? Because if so, I have to buy that right away haha
