Hey Dolls !
Who doesn’t adore a delicious glass of wine after a long day? Or in the middle of the day…whatever you are in to. This mommy certainly does! Currently in my life I am not that much of a drinker. Not for lack of trying, but I am still breastfeeding Charlotte so it’s not as convenient for me to just pop bottles whenever I please. But I still love me some wine.

My love affair with wine began a little before I was twenty-one…ssshhh. Don’t tell my parents. The love has developed and grown over the years. When John and I first started dating we would always get a few bottles of wine with our dinners and try new ones to see which ones we liked. The year John left for basic training with the army he gave me one of the best gifts I have ever received: a monthly wine club membership from Cellars Wine Club. Two bottles of wine every month for a whole year! It was so much fun to try a new red and white every month. They came with information about each wine including flavor profile and vineyard region! When you go to basic training you are not allowed to use cell phones or computers. You have to old school it and hand write letters. Pretty romantic if you ask me. So John and I exchanged a few letters and I would add in the information about each bottle of wine I received. With all the texting and emailing we do now days, you forget how much it hurts to write a long letter!
So with that said I will be reviewing a new wine every month and I hope to move on to once a week once I finish breastfeeding my wild child! And at the ends of those months I will tell you my favorite. I will be sure to include everything there is to know about the wines!
This month is a Prosecco made by Lamarca! If you know me then you know I am a sparkling wine and champagne enthusiast (what can I say I like to think I am fancy), hence this sparkling wine was right up my alley. I absolutely adored this Prosecco, it was not too dry or too sweet! The vintner suggests pairing this wine with lighter fish or seafood pastas, but I can vouch for it being great on its own while sitting on the couch! It was perfect and the price was extremely reasonable! Depending on where you purchase, it will run you around $14 dollars. I would definitely recommend this wine to anyone who loves sparkling wines!
This sparkling wine is a pale, golden straw in color. Bubbles are full textured and persistent. On the nose the wine brings fresh citrus with hints of honey and white flowers. The flavor is fresh and clean, with ripe citrus, lemon, green apple, and touches of grapefruit, minerality, and some toast. The finish is light, refreshing, and crisp.
La Marca Prosecco is named for the La Marca Trevigiana zone, located in the heart of Italy’s Prosecco region, where its grapes are grown. Founded more than 40 years ago, the La Marca winery joins tradition and innovation, ensuring the highest quality product.
In 2007, the winery was awarded a “Top 100 Wines of the Year” by Wine Spectator. La Marca is the only Prosecco producer from the Veneto region to be awarded this honor.
I am always looking for recommendations.
What is your favorite wine?
