Happy Fri-YAY/ 4th of July! I am so excited that I am home with my family this year for the holiday, minus the fact that John is not here with me. He dropped me off last weekend, and headed back to GA for a few weeks. He has been trying to get all his reenlistment done so he can start his new job…finally.
Being home with my family has been amazing…too amazing. Sometimes I forget just how much I love it here. Charlotte has been having a blast playing with all her cousins and my friends’ children, and getting lots of hugs and kisses from everyone. She is getting some much needed outdoor play time as well. The weather is much better here than GA. But she is still a toddler and life without my husband around is not always easy. Earlier I was editing photos for Sixth and Vine and she was being rather quiet in the living room. I go out to check on her and what do I find? My favorite MAC lipstick alllllll over her, my purse, and the carpet. My first reaction was to scream…my second? To try to smile. She was trying to put it on to be like me. I always tell her “pretty pretty” when I put her fake lipstick on her so I am sure she was just trying to do the same with mine. It is just a $16 lipstick right?
Oh and speaking of editing photos for Sixth and Vine…be on the look out for lots of new arrivals this coming week! AND use promo code FIREWORK for 20% off you entire purchase all weekend long! There is only 1 left of this gorgeous kimono, twirl over and get yours before it is gone!
I am so glad I made this trip home for the both of us. Char only sees the same 5 ish people all day everyday. It is good for her to get out of the house and see something different other than my face as much as possible. I wish John was here to see all the fun she is having. I hope he will be back soon to spend a few days here before we make the long trip back to the South. I am so excited for him and this new adventure with his career. I am just having a hard time getting used to the fact that we aren’t going to be moving back to St. Louis anytime soon. I hope with this next move we will be a lot closer to home though. But, you never know where the Army will take you next. So, for now, I will have to enjoy these small trips home whenever I can get them. If you are lucky enough to live close to your family, make the effort to be with them as much as you can! Family is everything.
I hope everyone has an amazing (and safe) 4th!
