We all know by now that I LOVE me a good “tag” post. Such a quick and fun way to get to know each other a bit more. Well, as you probably guessed from the title, you are about to get to know my silly husband a bit more by way of the Husband Makeup Knowledge Tag! I literally jumped up and down with excitement when I read this tag post over at www.mielandmint.com. As a beauty blogger/makeup addict, beauty products comprise about 50% of my daily conversations. So, let’s find out if my husband listens when I talk shall we…
Bronzer: Gives my wife’s face a tan and glowing appearance. Also used to darken areas for contouring, I think.
Blush: Used to highlight the cheek bones and/or give the rosy, healthy look to the cheeks.
Mascara: Used to change the look of eyelashes. Some can lengthen, thicken, separate, walk the dog, change the oil, etc…
Eye liner: Darkens the eye lids at the edges where the lashes meet the lids. Used to get that winged look on fleek!
Strobing: No idea.
Eye shadow: Colors for the upper eye lid to create different looks depending on season and time of day.
Powder: I guess it might be used to dry up any residual oils on the face before applying foundation.
Foundation: The base layer of coverage makeup for the face.
Concealer: Hide those blemishes!
Highlighter: A lighter shade of makeup than the foundation to create depth?
Setting Spray: Keeps a completed makeup look “locked and loaded” so it won’t rub off or crack.
Contouring: The process of using different shades of makeup to create depth and illusions which minimize unwanted facial features and create desirable ones. I think it was made popular by Kim K’s makeup artist?
Primer: I feel like it’s a product that prepares the skin to accept the layers of makeup?
Lip liner: Pencil or liquid and brush applicator used to create a fuller lip (so you can look like Kylie) or use a different liner color than lipstick to create an ombre look.
Brow pencil: Fill in, shape, and color your eye brows
Serum: I’m not really sure what it’s for, but I do know it is clear, kind of thick in texture, and probably used to hydrate the face after wearing a lot of makeup.
Cleanser: Used to wash makeup from the face and hopefully out of the pores.
Micellar Water: No idea.
Toner: Also used to improve the quality of the skin on the face. I think it might have some sort of alcohol/astringent to help close the pores and remove oil.
Was this test hard? I hope not.
Why? If I missed too many questions, my wife is probably going to send me to cosmetology school to get my grades up.
LMAO – I was dying laughing when I read these back the first time. The setting spray one is my favorite. I think he did amazing – I guess he does listen when I talk! What do you think?
