Seriously how is it Monday already? This weekend flew by, probably because I was sick. I didn’t make it much further than the couch all weekend. With the exception of going to our friends’ house for a mini pool play date for Charlotte and her besties. I’ve been so out of it lately, I haven’t wanted to do much of anything. Between waiting to find out if we are still in the army and being stuck at my house all day while John is at work, I’m feeling super down. I need something new and exciting to do on the weekends so my week doesn’t seem so boring. So, there are three weekends left in June and I want to make the most of them.
John and I were chatting last night about how we haven’t seen much of Georgia. We have been here for almost two years and haven’t hardly explored at all. Sad, I know. Although, I was pregnant for the first few months of being here. Then, after Charlotte came, with exclusively pumping I didn’t want to travel far from the house unless it was back to STL. Having a new baby gave me terrible anxiety, I never wanted to take her anywhere. But now that we have a big girl (toddler), it makes it much easier to get out and explore. She can let me know for the most part what she needs and wants.
Part of being in the Army is traveling to new places every few years or so. Why not explore? We may never get to live in Georgia, or the south for that matter again. We get so busy with daily life that we are missing the beautiful things the south has to ofter. SO … I have made a June bucket list to explore Georgia a bit!
Savannah, GA. I have always wanted to visit Savannah, and now we are only four hours away. I want to make it here this month. We have been talking about it since we got here and it’s time to check it out. Savannah has so much to do and see! The Historic District, River Street and Tybee Island, I want to see it all. There is so much history there, so much to learn.
Then the obvious place…ATL. We only live an hour and a half, maybe two hours with traffic away from Atlanta. How many times have we been there? Once, and that was to drop me off at the airport to head to STL for my baby shower. I LOVE big cities. Atlanta is the closest thing I have to a STL type of town. Fabulous restaurants, great parks, and tons of places to take Char. She would love the Georgia Aquarium and Atlanta Zoo. I mean the Zoo won’t hold a candle to the STL Zoo, but it will do for now. John and I would like the World of Coca-Cola museum.
Lastly, Callaway Gardens. It is a town about 45 minutes away from us, with a lot to do and see. There is a man made beach there on a lake. Char has never seen a beach yet, so this would be a good tester to see if she would like it. Which I am sure she will, she is a water baby like her momma and daddy. They have a ton of beautiful gardens…hence the name I’m sure. And if anything, it would be a great place for me to practice my photography skills.
Luckily I now have the PERFECT dress for any of these gorgeous places we want to visit. Does this floral maxi dress not scream summer to you? Ahhh, the moment I saw it I was head over heels in love. As you know, I am having a love affair with anything floral this spring/summer. The colors of the flowers in this dress are so beautiful and bright. It is even more beautiful in person. Oh and the stunning bag? My amazing husband surprised me with it for my birthday last month. Every time I see that watermelon ish color on anything, I go nuts and have to have it. MK totes have been a favorite of mine for years. John bought me my first one for Christmas, years ago. Large totes are fab for traveling, I can fit our lives in this bag.
What are your plans for the last three weekends in June? Let me know and give me some ideas!

I adore that dress! So perfect for summer. 🙂 I highly recommend you go eat at Lady Bird Cafe, walk a little bit of the Beltline up to the Krog Street Market and look around at all of the fun shops. Besides the meal, it’s absolutely free, plus it’s a really cool part of town away from the touristy stuff. Try Ponce City Market, too!
Happy Summer!
