Hey Dolls,
I recently wore this outfit for a girls night out to celebrate my friend Amy’s birthday. Thank god for Amy’s birthday, the three of us were in serious need of a girls night out. Luckily, we have super great husbands that are also amazing daddies to stay home with the kiddies while we went out. Being the bloggers Samantha and I are, and Amy being the fab photographer she is, we decided to hop in the elevator in the parking garage and have a quick photoshoot on the roof before heading down for dinner and drinks. Can we talk about this lighting? AH…this is the type of lighting that makes me want to pick up my camera and continue learning photography. Before I began blogging, I had a dream of becoming a professional photographer. Then I discovered blogging, and I put photography on the back burner. Obviously, you still need to understand photography to be a successful blogger (I will let you know if I ever become one). But taking photos of clothes and products only takes you so far. Taking photos of people is what I need to improve upon. When I got my camera, I mainly thought I would be taking pictures of Char. Well that almost nevvvverr happens. Taking pictures of your own children isn’t always easy. She smiles so big for Amy or Elizabeth when they are behind the camera…but me, HA! Still, I want more professional like pictures of her. So I have given myself the mini challenge of taking one great photo per month of Char – whether she likes it or not.
I have said it before, and probably will again a million times… I LOVE Portofino shirts from Express. Whether it’s girls night, date night, or a day at the park with Char, they are perfect. Cargo pants and I are besties. These cargo pants are more like leggings…aka super comfy. Normally I wear them with flip flops or boots, but I decided to give them a go with high heel sandals. Why not? Fashion is all about trying something new or bringing back something old. I thought it all pulled together perfectly. The back-pack purse also gives it a more laid back feel, which is what I was going for. Sitting on a patio having margaritas with your besties calls for fab but not fancy.
